World Championships in Athletics 2015: Kenya won the medal

The World Championships in Athletics 2015 in Beijing have come to the end.

Kenya won the medal with a total of 16 medals (7 gold, 6 silver and 3 bronze), ahead of Jamaica (7 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze) and the US (6 golds, 6 silvers and 6 bronzes). The nations that have won at least one medal are in total 32.

For Italy it was a very negative experience: it has not even won a medal.

The United States has won the last race of the World Championships in Athletics 2015: David Verburg, Tony McQuay, Bryshon Nellum and LaShawn Merritt are the world champions of the men’s 4×400 relay m with a time of 2 ’57 “82 which is the best performance seasonal world. Silver in Trinidad and Tobago which has improved its national record in 2 ’58 ” 20 and bronze to Britain in 2′ 58″ 51, best performance of the season.

Canada’s Derek Drouin is the new world champion of high jump, leaping 2.34 while the Chinese Zhang Guowei and the defending champion, the Ukrainian Bondarenko Bodan not have made it. For Zhang and Bondarenko is therefore the silver medal tied.

Gianmarco Tamberi finished eighth in the final of the men’s high jump. The seventh place is one of the best results after the fourth and eighth of Ruggero Pertile Daniele Meucci in the men’s marathon and fifth Antonella Palmisano in the 20 km march of women. Tamberi jumped on the first try the first two measures of 2.20 and 2.25, but missed all three attempts at 2.29 and finished eighth on a par with the American Erik Kynard.

The Jamaican Christine Day, Shericka Jackson, Stephanie Ann McPherson and Novlene Williams-Mills won the gold in the final of the 4×400 m relay race with a time of 3′ 19″13 which is the world’s best performance of the season. Silver for USA 3′ 19″44 and bronze for Great Britain in 3′ 23″ 62 (best performance of the season for them).

Kenyan one-two in the men’s 1500 m: gold for Asbel Kiprop who raced in 3′ 34 “40 and silver for Elijah Motonei Manangoi in 3′ 34” 63. The Moroccan Abdalaati Iguider , who raced in 3′ 34 “67,  won the bronze medal .

The podium of the women’s 5000 m is Ethiopian gold Almaz Ayana who raced in 14 ’26 “83, new record of world championships, Senbere Teferi is silver in 14′ 44 ’07 and Genzebe Dibaba is bronze in 14′ 44” 14 .

The German Kathrina Molitor won gold in the women’s javelin throw with a measure of 67.69 obtained in the sixth and final attempt, which is also the world’s best performance of the season. Silver to the Chinese Huihui Lyu, who set a new Asian record of 66.13 with the measure obtained at the fifth attempt, bronze to the South African Sunette Viljoen who got the measure of 65.75 at the fourth attempt.

The final day of the World Championships in Athletics 2015 in Beijing began with the women’s marathon in the Italian night: the victory went to the favorite of the eve, the Ethiopian Mare Dibaba who finished in 2h 27 ’35”. The silver goes to kenyana Helah Kiprop who got a time of 2h 27 ’36” and the bronze in Eunice Kirwa Jepkirui Bahrain, which arrived with four seconds behind the winner in 2h 27′ 39″.
