Fernández Anaya joined him immediately, but instead to exploit the mistake of Mutai to win the race, he invited the latter to run up to the true goal of the race, leaving him come first.

Ivan Fernández Anaya, Basque runner of 24 years, is considered an athlete with a great potential.

Iva, interviewed on the incident, said, “If you had told me that winning this race I would have been part of the Spanish team for the European championships, I would not took advantage of the situation. I think I have given more credit to my name for what I did that if I had not won in this condition. in a world where anything goes, everything is licit, a gesture of honesty is something very important”.

The value of an athlete …. you see that from the courage, from his/her honesty.
